Medium-sized vulture that visits us in spring and summer to breed. Recognised by its black-and-white plumage and present throughout the region, although it is easier to spot it the further south you go.

Observation: It is relatively easy to see if you are in the right places.

Caractère: summer visitor.

Description: medium-sized vulture with relatively long, pointed wings and rhomboidal tail. The plumage on adults is white except primaries and secondaries, which are black, and the head is yellow and free of feathers. Immature examples are dark brown.

Espèces similaires: although quite a bit smaller, young birds can resemble the Lammergeier.
