The Pamplona city walls
, one of the most fascinating and best-preserved defence complexes in Spain, take the centre stage thanks to the City Walls Festival
This is the programme:
• The Walls by candlelight
: night walks through the walled part of the city, lit with hundreds of candles and enlivened with live music and D.O. wine tasting and pinchos.
• The Walls in dance
: aerial and vertical dance shows using the walls of the Guadalupe Stronghold as the backdrop, below the White Horse viewpoint
, open exclusively to the public for the occasion.
• Dramatized tours "The Guardians of the City Walls"
: the military engineer Próspero de Verboom, a foot soldier, accompanied by the watchmen of the city walls, will tell stories about the daily life on the city fortifications at the beginning of the 18th century.
• Street arts
: different art forms, from music and dance to circus spectacles take place around the city walls.
• Other activities
: Escape Room in the Citadel
or evenings filled with ingenuity, science and new technologies are the cultural proposals that are set to take place in the Plaza de la Virgen de la O in Pamplona.
