To mark the end of the skiing season at the end of April, the
laying down the poles is celebrated; a traditional and symbolic ceremony held
at the Larra-Belagua cross-country skiing centre.
The skiers that have practiced their sport in the area throughout the winter pass over the baton and hand poles to the livestock farmers, so that their flocks can fill the pastures, symbolising the exchange that takes place between two traditional ways of managing the same space.
The day also includes an
outing with snowshoes with a guide from the Ski School and a tasting session of txistorra sausage and migas. How tempting!
