Pincho de chistorra Chistorra Day (Txistor Eguna in Basque) is a tribute to this tasty sausage that has made Arbizu famous. It is similar to chorizo, but longer and thinner, and is made from seasoned pork minced meat. To ensure that there is enough on the big day, the townspeople work hard in the days before the event to prepare the hundreds of kilos for the festivity.
Before you enjoy it, however, get to know how chistorra is made traditionally - and other pork-based products such as ham or pâté -, visit the lively handcraft market or enjoy the pinchos (tapas) competition, accompany by music from the local band and the trikitilaris of Navarre.
A really great day out…

Did you know that...?

The chistorra of Embutidos Arbizu won the Coq d'Or prize for the best gastronomic product in 2010. The merit of this prize, awarded by the French Le Guide des Gourmands is that very few non-French products are mentioned in it.
