"Milagro, water and light
" is the motto of this town in southern Navarre of 3.000 inhabitants. These two elements define the town to perfection. Bathed by the rivers Ebro and Aragón, there are several copses and groves that are ideal for a pleasant stroll.
However, the distinguishing feature
of Milagro is undoubtedly the cherry
. The 'pinta' variety is the most appreciated and of top quality. Hard, sweet and with an intense colour, its prestige is fully deserved. Milagro is the town with the highest production of this fruit in Navarre, with almost 400,000 kilos a year.
, coinciding with the harvest, the "Day of the cherry
" is held. Sports, fun, dessert competitions, a handicraft fair, the awarding of the 'Golden Cherry' prize and, above all, a tasting session of the delightful fruit are some of the events on the programme of the festive day. Music is supplied by the town band and joteros from the surrounding area.
