Lying alongside the Baztan valley, the old 'Señorío de Bertiz' estate belongs to the municipality of Oieregi, and in 1984 became the first Natural Park in Navarre. At the entrance to the park is the delightful and romantic Botanic Garden, where you can find the Tenientetxea farmhouse that houses the Nature Interpretation Centre.

This fascinating centre focuses on the woods of Bertiz and the life of its most characteristic animal and plant species. Information is provided through computers, models, interactive games, material and photographs that give an entertaining and educational insight to the Natural Park.

The centre covers three floors which are laid out as follows:
Ground floor. Reception area with a section featuring information on the different elements of the natural environment of Navarre and Bertiz.
First floor. Dedicated to three very important elements of Bertiz: water, soil and woods.
Second floor. This features a multimedia show that takes you on a journey through the origins, history, climate, landscapes, flora and fauna of this natural region, throughout the four seasons and at both night and day.
