Founded in 1951, the cooperative was notable for its rapid expansion thanks to its business acumen, absorbing the San José Cooperative in Los Arcos and the Carmen Cooperative in Sesma. Today it boasts a total capacity of 13,000,000 litres of wine in its three bodegas and a total of 1,220 hectares of vineyards in the sub-regions of each bodega (Ribera Baja, Ribera Alta and Tierra Estella).
It is the leading cooperative in Navarre in terms of both volume and variety of wines, having made successive investments throughout its history. It currently has 3,100 American oak casks as well as modern machinery and facilities.
At the high end of the wines produced by the bodega is the Gran Reserva "Señor de Cascante", the Reserva wines "Viña Parot" (made from French varieties) and "Plandenas", and selected Crianza, rosé and white wines under the "Malón de Echaide" label. Other wines worth mentioning are the "Torrecilla" (red, white and rosé) and the "Señorío de Yaniz" label, a very young and surprising Tempranillo varietal.
