Bodegas Vega del Castillo was created in 1999 as the result of the determination of grape-growers from three emblematic towns in the Central Zone of Navarre to unite their endeavours in producing and marketing their wines. The new entity represents the alliance between Bodega Cooperativa Olitense, founded in 1911; the Virgen de Ujué Cooperative (in Ujué) and the Nuestra Señora de Ujué Wine Cooperative in Pitillas.
We are therefore looking at three production centres which bring together 345 partners with the capacity to transform 7,200,000 litres of wine. A total of 750 hectares of vineyards are under cultivation, growing Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Viura grape varieties.
The bodega markets wines jointly under the "Vega del Castillo" label.
