Given its geographical location, until the mid-20th century, Irurtzun
was a crossroads, and as a result, it was the commercial hub for the Arakil Valley - located in the Sakana Region
- and for small surrounding villages. Irurtzun regularly held fairs and markets, which provided the livelihood for most families in the area.
This fair is held with the aim of restoring the town's livestock and commercial nature. The plaza is the chosen setting, where horses, cows, sheep, pigs and chickens take the leading role, alongside seasonal products and other traditional foods that can be bought from the market
directly from the producers. Music, workshops, crafts, mythological characters
and activities for children are just some of the elements that make this an unmissable event.
