The mill is located to the left when you enter the village, before crossing the characteristic arch of
Amaiur. The Serorategi centre stands to the right next to the church.
The
Mill of Amaiur has been restored and recreates its past for the visitor. It is located on the ground floor of a charming country house. Group visits can be organised to learn about the mill and its operation in detail, as well as tasting sessions for the exquisite talos (bread made with corn flour). If you would like to visit the mill, you can also arrange a visit to coincide with the tasting of
talos.
The mill also sells the flour it produces, either corn or wheat. Next to the mill a
1-mile walk starts; it crosses the dam and the channel of the mill and reaches the mythical monolith located on mount Gaztelu.
The
Serorategi centre is the old house of the serora. In the past the seroras were helped the priests with running and cleaning the church. The centre is closed to the public at present.
