Calandra Lark
Sturdy lark with short, strong bill. Mimetic, brown plumage with pale abdomen and breast and conspicuous black patches on both sides of gular region. Wide wings, black on the underside and with a white band are the end.
Similar species
Sky Lark, Short-toed Lark, Lesser Short-toed Lark.
All year round.
Seeing the species
Relatively easy during its breeding season; more discreet the rest of the year.

Laguna de Pitillas, Las Cañas Reservoir, Bardenas.

Nature: residente.

Description: alondra robusta, de pico corto y fuerte. Plumaje pardo mimético, con vientre y pecho pálidos y manchas negras conspicuas a ambos lados de la garganta. Alas anchas negras por su parte inferior y con una banda blanca terminal.

Similar species: Alondra común, Terrera común, Terrera marismeña.
