The people of Santacara
revisit the 1st century BC to highlight the importance of Cara, the Roman settlement that was the predecessor of modern Santacara. It saw periods of great splendour, as witnessed by the archeological and sculptural remains found in the area. Santacara goes back to its origins.
The people dress up in tunics and 'invade' the streets. The programme includes a Roman market, the disribution of alimentum et vinum
, demonstrations of ancient trades such as pottery on a Roman lathe, artisanal barrel-making or smithying. There are also guided visits to the Roman ruins of Cara
. Ave visitanti!
