Let yourself be enchanted by the glorious natural surroundings and mild climate of the Baztan Valley while you relax to the sounds of bubbling brooks near
Oieregi. As well as discovering the
Señorío de Bertiz Natural Park and rambling along the different tracks that criss-cross it, you'll find a delightful botanic garden at the entrance to the park which has a fascinating little nature interpretation centre.
The countless natural species populating the garden coexist with some amazing examples of Navarre's contemporary artistic heritage. These are various
giant sculptures created especially for this setting in different styles and materials. Pieces in steel include "Encrucijada" by Jesús Alberto Eslava, "Evolución vertical" by Javier Muro, "Arraigados" by Manuel Clemente Ochoa and "La sombra del sueño" by Leopoldo Ferrán; concrete is used for "Lamia del Bidasosa" by Xabier Santxotena, bronze for "Cabeza" by Faustino Aizkorbe, and iron and limestone for "Cabeza" by Juan Diego Miguel.
