The bid day is the Sunday, with a handcrafts market
in the main street where stallholders offer sheep's cheese, articles carved in wood, talos
(corn cakes) or cider, among other things. At 14:00, don't miss the 'World Hoe Race
a curious event held in the town since the 1960s. The young men 'ride' these hoes - old agricultural tools with a wooden tip and two iron tips to move the earth - and launch themselves along the stony streets in an attempt to keep their balance on these strange 'stilts'.
