is a pleasant valley in central Navarra whose distinguishing features are Romanesque architecture and mycology. It is an area where truffles
are found in abundance, so it is no coincidence that it is home to the annual Thematic Fair
on mushrooms. This gastronomic event aims to disseminate the excellence of the product known as the 'black diamond'. Chefs and other figures from the world of international cuisine come every year to show the secrets of this peculiar food. The day includes a full programme of activities: tasting of truffle-based tapas, a demonstration of how truffles are collected with female boars
and tributes, among other events. Music and colour is provided by groups of pipers, ceremonial giants, txistularis (Basque flute players) and folk dancers. Many restaurants in the area include menus with truffles
over the weekend.
