Male Bearded Tit
Resident and winter visitor.
Small, stocky, long-tailed bird. Brown with white patches on wings. Females with brown head and males with greyish head and conspicuous black whisker marks.
Similar species
All year round, more birds may arrive in the winter.
Seeing the species
Rather difficult due to its scarce number and shy nature. It is easier to hear it, particularly during the mating season.
Where to watch it
Laguna de Pitillas, Las Cañas Reservoir, wetlands in Bardenas.

Recommended observation points: Laguna de Pitillas, Embalse de las Cañas, zonas húmedas de Bardenas.

Times of the year present: todo el año.

Observation: algo difícil por su escaso número y carácter tímido. Resulta más fácil oírlo, sobre todo en época de celo.

Nature: residente.

Description: pájaro pequeño, rechoncho y colilargo. Coloración parda con manchas blancas en las alas. Hembras con la cabeza parda y machos grisácea y conspicua bigotera negra.
