Black-bellied Sandgrouse pair
Medium-sized bird with short legs, stocky, long body and mimetic colouring. Black abdomen. Male has grey head, neck and breast and an orangey face; female is browner, sand-coloured. Non-protruding tail feathers.
Similar species
Pint-tailed Sandgrouse.
All year round.
Seeing the species
Relatively difficult; there is more chance of seeing it at dawn or dusk, which is when it moves.

Description: ave mediana, de patas cortas, cuerpo abultado y alargado y coloración mimética. Vientre negro. Macho con cabeza, cuello y pecho grises y cara anaranjada y hembra más pardusca, de color arenoso. Plumas caudales sin proyección.

Similar species: Ganga ibérica.
