This town, located in the Ebro valley in southern
Navarre, is one of the points of entry to the
Nature Park and Biosphere Reserve of the
Bardenas Reales. It is also home to the largest family theme park in the
Iberian peninsula,
Sendaviva. Another place worthy of a visit are the
Caves of Arguedas, used as dwellings between the 19
th and 20
th centuries by local people who could not afford to buy an ordinary home.
The highlights of the town's historic quarter is the
church of San Esteban (16
th and 17
th century), the chapel of San Miguel (16
th century) and Gothic-Renaissance Basilica of Our Lady of Yugo (17
th century). Of its architectural heritage, we would give a special mention to the Town Hall (16
th and 18
th century) and Casa Muruzábal (18
th century).
