Bird-watching in Navarre

Habitats

Navarre's geographical situation (between the Bay of Biscay, the Valley of the River Ebro and the Pyrenees) and its peculiar relief favour the existence of a great variety of habitats of differing natures, from woodland to steppes, passing through mountainous areas, rivers, crags and wetlands. This diversity is translated into a great number of bird species living in these habitats.

As Navarre is not very large, there is no small number of places in which two or more habitats converge, thereby enriching the bird population and multiplying the opportunities for birders no end.

This section describes the different habitats of interest for birds, indicating the most characteristics species to be found in each.
