A long route with uneven terrain which runs parallel to the dual carriageway linking Pamplona and Logroño (A-12). The route, which runs alongside the French Path
, passes through the regions of Pamplona and Tierra Estella.
From Pamplona, you leave in the direction of Puente la Reina along the NA-1110, which has a wide, hard shoulder and good surface. The signs of the Way also indicate the route to follow. Thus, you only have to be aware of the traffic at the entrances or exits of the A-12 dual carriageway and choose the correct path at the numerous roundabouts.
After passing through Zizur Mayor and Astráin, you reach the first difficulty: the Perdón Mountain Pass. Between Puente la Reina and Estella-Lizarra, the terrain is very tough. Although it softens between the capital of the Ega and Los Arcos, it becomes tough again in the final section, with long upward slopes - particularly near Torres del Río.
