Small bird of cryptic plumage and curved beak whose distribution is restricted to very specific areas in the south, characterised by being well-conserved grasslands.

Zones: southern Navarre.

Recommended observation points: Bardenas.

Times of the year present: all year round.

Observation: difficult; easier to locate in the spring thanks to its song.

Nature: resident.

Description: relatively large, stylised lark with long, down-curved bill. Generally brownish, highly mimetic colouring with finely striped, pale breast. Somewhat marked eyebrow.

Similar species: other alaudidae such as the Crested Lark, Thekla Lark, etc.
