Description
Relatively large woodpecker with greenish colouring, paler on the underside, and red crown. Differentiated from the European subspecies due to the lack of black on its face, redder whisker marks (only on male) and its call.

Relatively easy, particularly to hear, and especially during mating season.

Observation: relativamente fácil, sobre todo de oir, y especialmente en época de celo.

Nature: residente.

Description: carpintero relativamente grande, de tonalidades verdosas, más pálidas en las partes inferiores y coronilla roja. Se diferencia de la subespecie nominal europea por carecer de negro en la cara, presentar una bigotera más roja (sólo el macho) y por su reclamo.
