In autumn, Lodosa holds a festivity in honour of its most valued product: the 'red gold' of its market gardens, the piquillo pepper. It is a day when Lodosa fills its streets with food stalls offering tasting sessions of tapas and wine and traditional competitions on how to create strings of peppers. There is also a market with stalls of local canning companies that come under the Designation of Origin, a stall for roasting and selling peppers, and a large area of children's games and workshops related to the world of designations of origin. All this takes places against a backdrop of band music and the smell of roast pimienticos (peppers).
