Pisada de la uva
The capital of the wine of Navarre Olite, opens its mediaeval streets and vines up to celebrate the new grape harvest. Every year at in late August or early September the Wine Guild of Navarre organises a full programme of activities to praise and disseminate the virtues of the wines made under the 'Navarra' Designation of Origin.

The festivity takes place at the weekend, but a number of events take place beforehand as a prelude. Thematic competitions and gastronomy days are held, with a wide range of tapas and dishes related to wine on offer. Original activities help visitors learn about the world of wine-making. Vineyards and wineries open their doors to reveal some of their secrets in the production of their excellent wines.
The day of the festivity starts with a procession of the guilds in their costumes and the Opening Speech to announce the grape harvest. The treading of the grapes is one of the most photographed moments and the popular tasting of the first musts is one of the most keenly awaited. Music is provided by the town band and a number of concerts in honour of the harvest are held throughout the week.
