Músico tocando el rabel en Artáiz
Just 15 miles from Pamplona, in the valley of Unciti, the old village school of Artáiz has been converted into a Romanesque art centre that sets out to cast light on the construction of that epoch and the symbology of its sculpture.

Photographs and poster explain some of the elements that the centre has to achieve its objective. However, one of the main pieces of work of the centre, and also one of the most striking, is the model of the church of Artáiz by Manuel Tovar. The author has also included a crane from that era.

The protagonism of the musicians of the church of San Martin is revealed to us as soon as we stop in front of it. As well as occupying a prominent place under the eaves, they are images of great beauty and simplicity. This is why it holds an alboca (pastoral flute) and a psalter, typical instruments of the mediaeval era.

Entry is free of charge and it is an excellent starting point for discovering the church of San Martin, one of the most beautiful examples of rural Romanesque religious architecture in Navarre.
