Nature Interpretation Centre of Ochagavía

Nature Interpretation Centres / Nature interpretation centres

The picturesque village of Ochagavía, right in the middle of Navarre's Eastern Pyrenees, has a Nature Interpretation Centre next to the Tourist Office. This is the ideal place to gain an insight into the natural world and life in the Salazar valley, the conservation of its ecosystems and especially the fascinating Irati Forest, one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beech and fir forests in Europe.

The Interpretation Centre covers three floors, each with a very different character, presenting the following content through informative panels, models, videos and interactive games:

Ground floor. Reception, tourist and environmental material on the area including website documents, books, magazines and videos.

First floor. Information on the geology, flora and fauna of the area, with a special emphasis on the bearded vulture and the Irati Forest as the two most characteristic elements of this region.

Second floor. Ethnographic exhibition featuring traditional tools and implements of the Salazar valley and an audiovisual on the Irati Forest.

Remarks: acceso gratis al centro. Grupos concertar con antelación.
