Pamplona becomes the centre of the documentary world thanks to the Punto de Vista International Documentary Film Festival, held every year over six days in February. It is one of the first film festivals of the year and presents the best films from the previous season and some of the more interesting future productions. More than 600 films are presented for competition every year, although only around twenty are selected for the final round.

The Official Section covers a wide range of styles of contemporary non-fiction film that - as Jean Vigo said - "open our eyes and help us to see beyond appearances". What is the spirit of the competition? That filmmakers should try to go further than previously walked paths, and with a strong ethical commitment.

From there on, freedom of form and content. The jury evaluates the quality and originality of the films, paying particular attention to filmmakers who take risks and try to look beyond. Entrance to conferences and presentations is free of charge, and the price of tickets for the films is very affordable.
