Founded in 1991 and established in a unique 17th century Baroque palace, Bodegas Palacio de Muruzábal, as it is known, started out by focusing on the quality of its vines and grapes. This would later form the basis of its excellent wines.
The property has 30 hectares of carefully nurtured vineyards with low production levels to obtain optimum quality fruit. The bodega is small and follows artisan methods.
It started out by producing a white Chardonnay which set the standards and positioned the "Palacio de Muruzábal" name among the leading group of new wines from Navarre. The company later incorporated a red wine, a Reserva under the same brand, and subsequently a small production of Crianza which was released as a "Special Harvest".
