The bodega is located in Larraga and was founded in 2000 by the Macaya family, who recovered the old village winery, renovated its facilities and equipped it with cutting-edge technology, while respecting the original structure and flavour of the building.
The vineyards extend over land in the Upper Ribera region of Navarre and consist of open, clayey soils. This is a privileged spot due to its unique climatic conditions: optimal rainfall, dry summers, long cold winters, and big temperature fluctuations during the ripening period which allow the grapes to retain all their proprietary aromas.
The bodega was established to make red wines from Tempranillo grapes, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which are marketed under the "Almara" label.
