The Ayerra family have been grape growers for generations. Until recently they used to send their grapes to the Cooperative in San Martín de Unx, but have now set up their own bodega to make wine with the grapes from their own vineyards.
The new bodega was established in 1999 and has a capacity of 370,000 litres, with 115 American oak casks in an adjacent facility. The family has 60 hectares of vineyards where it grows mainly Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes, plus a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Mazuelo and Viura.
At present the bodega makes rosés, young reds, Crianza and Reserva wines. All its wines are marketed under the "Ayerra" name with the exception of a young red known as "Bescos".
