A day at the San Fermin Festival with children

Those who get up early can begin their day with the Bull Run. To get a good place along the route, you cannot arrive later than 6:30am; however, you can arrive an hour later if you only want to see the herd's arrival to the bullring. What's the reward? Some delicious churro doughnuts that you can buy -just as tradition would have it- on Mañueta Street, in the churro shop which opens only for the occasion.

Those who like to sleep in can start their day at 9:30am, when the Gigantes y Cabezudos (Giants and Big Heads) take to the streets. This is a group of kings and their escorts made of a material that is similar to paper mâché and who parade around the streets of Pamplona to the sound of music. Some days, around 11:00am, bull fighting displays are held which are adapted for children - such as the vasco-landesa bull display (bullfighting in the French Basque-Landes style). Likewise, every day except for the 6th and the 7th, at 12:00 noon, we recommend not missing the rural sport displays held in the Plaza de los Fueros Square.

In truth, by just walking the streets of the city, you'll be quite entertained: they are filled with non-stop festivities in which all types of street theatre shows are set up: dance, music, humour, strange abilities, etc.

Another option that you cannot miss is to visit the colourful Attraction Park, popularly known as the "funfair", which will delight the little ones. The place where the funfair is held, the Arga Riverside Park, is perfect to take a nature walk, see ducks, and disconnect from the uproar of the old city centre.

Also, at 11:30am and at 6:00pm, in the Conde de Rodezno Square, an outdoor park is opened which has theatre, games, workshops, and rides for children.
Around 8:30pm, you can go with your family to see members of the social clubs leaving the bullring. It's a great show in which dances and pleasant atmosphere are guaranteed.

At 10:00pm, the most daring can enjoy the "Bull of Fire" and, to finish up the day, at 11:00pm the beautiful fireworks display begins, which can be seen from the gardens behind the Castle or... why not... seated in the funfair's Ferris Wheel.
